Halloween is usually about scary things like ghosts, goblins, and witches. And there are some
people who get really excited about things that are pretty gross and disgusting. Despite the fact
that your kids may not want to eat Brussels sprouts or broccoli throughout the rest of the year
because they are “icky”, this is the one time of year when they are going to go bonkers for the
chance to slice into a brain, or to perhaps gobble down a handful of severed fingers. We may never
understand the difference, but we can certainly go with it. Find some fun and gross Halloween
recipies to serve on this spooky day.
Jello can be
pretty icky and fun
Jell-O makes it easy to
concoct some pretty disgusting and easy Halloween recipes on your own. You may have to shop
online to find them, but there are some very interesting gelatin molds that can help you
create brains, fingers, and other body parts. You might need to experiment with the right
colors for these gross Haloween recipes, but they should be simple enough to make. Use
strawberry sauce, or something else that is a darker red, for the blood.
Want to serve a scary heart in a bowl of blood? This is the way to go. Use a Jell-O mold to make an
heart. Pour the strawberry jelly or sauce over the heart and place it in the bowl. Put the bowl in
the fridge to make it hard.
Slimy spaghetti
innards
You can also do some interesting things with spaghetti for easy Hallowen recipes. Things
like this are screaming out to be made into something truly spooky. You can come up with a thick,
dark sauce and then use it to make “intestines”. This would not be good to eat, but they are going
to be interesting and you are definitely going to succeed in sickening your kids.
Good with baking? You can make some scary Halloween recipes that involve decorating things
with eyeballs and other traditional items. You can make cupcakes that look like giant eyeballs, or
perhaps you could cut up a cake to decorate as something that is going to repulse and delight your
children and other guests. These ideas may not really be the more traditional Halloween recipes but
they are easy to make at home, so don’t forget to share them with others that you
love.
Halloween this year might be a little different with the economy being what it is, so homemade
treats are going to be very much "in" this season. Especially if you buy your ingredients for you
spooky Holloween treats with a discount coupon.
But the biggest thing to remember is -- if you are having a party of any type, be sure you have
enough to serve all of your guests. It’s a party they are not soon going to forget.
